program for my fitness gym will be used organizationally, and as an influence on the types of spaces my gym has. this gym is geared towards the sport of kickboxing, which was one of my original exercises. there will be several areas of fitness based on a kickboxer's training routine. a kickboxer's routine always includes a warm up, jogging and relaxing muscles is important for this intense exercise. it is also necessary to have a space for different types of bags (speed bags, weight bags) and weightlifting. the main area necessary for a kickboxer is a ring in which to spar or have matches. partner interaction is key for this sport, almost always done with another person (unless training). kickboxing is also a spectator sport, very often people come to watch these types of activities, the areas should be open, and allow for spectating.

organizationally, the spaces should revolve around a central arena where partners can spar, or watch other people spar. there should be an area for one on one traning, and then areas for weights/speed bags/hygeine. these areas should branch off of the central arena, close to the reception area.

visually, the gym should be an open space. kickboxing can be a very loud sport since it is fighting, so there is need for an open space. the curves in my tectonic language will also be useful in this aspect, they will help relax a very rigorous and intense sport into a space that is welcoming for all.
